Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Mrs. Opal C. Hines, 62, of Mt. Carmel, Ill., a former Danville resident, died at 10:55 a.m. yesterday (Feb. 11, 1969) in the Wabash General Hospital at Mt. Carmel where she had been a patient several days. She had lived at Mt. Carmel nine years. Born Aug. 7, 1906, in Covington, Ind., she was a daughter of Leonard and Anna Phoebus Maines. She had lived in Danville most of her life. She was married Nov. 12, 1955, in Paris, Ill., to Ernest G. Hines, who survives. Also surviving are her mother, Mrs. Anna Maines of Mt. Carmel, and two brothers, Leonard Maines of Indianapolis, Ind., and Gordon Maines of Shipley, Fla. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother. Mrs. Hines had attended the Baptist Church. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Barrick & Son Funeral Home. The Rev. Don C. Goodwin will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington. Friends will be received at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today.  --typed by Walt W
